Litigation Paralegal

We are excited to add a Litigation Paralegal to our civil team. Three or more years of civil litigation experience are required. Civil rights experience is helpful but not necessary. Other requirements include:

  • Strong grasp on civil discovery process and procedure

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship skills

  • Exceptional writing ability

  • Self-motivated, determined, and problem-solving mindset

  • Excitement to collaborate with a team of passionate advocates

  • Working knowledge of the criminal legal system

Job Duties include supporting civil rights litigation from investigation through trial:

  • Plan and manage efficient and effective civil investigation and discovery

  • Draft and review investigation/discovery requests and productions

  • Obtain records/information from clients, public agencies, medical providers, others

  • Review, digest, and summarize investigation/discovery materials

  • Identify key case documents

  • Prepare depositions/trials and participate in trial teams

  • Draft simple motions, file case documents

  • Develop meaningful relationships with clients, their families, and support networks

  • Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
