$900K Settlement Reached for Correctional Officer Wrongly Attacked by Cleveland Police


Background

Martin Robinson, a correctional officer was patrolling the perimeter of a women’s prison when members of the Cleveland Vice Unit attacked him. He suffered various injuries and post traumatic stress disorder.


Approach & Resolution

Robinson’s attorney, Terry Gilbert, proved that the vice members failed to identify themselves on state property and threatened to shoot Robinson.

The correctional officer won a $900,000 settlement.
